Michael Moses Jewelers (MMJ) was started in 2000 by Michael Moses Cortez, a third generation jeweler, GIA Graduate Gemologist, and member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers.
Over the years, Mike used his gemological expertise and experience gained while working at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) research facilities to grow MMJ into a leading resource for high quality diamonds of all sizes. Mike now has several GIA graduate gemologists on staff, searching the globe for bargains to pass on to his customers.
Many customers also asked for jewelry design assistance so Mike opened the custom design department in 2004. Directed by Ms. Whitney Van Hoy, a graduate of both the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts and the GIA, with diplomas for Jewelry Technician, Applied Jewelry Arts, Graduate Gemologist, Applied Jewelry Professional, and Graduate Pearls Diplomas, Whitney merges advanced gemological, precious metals, design, and computer skills with artistic passion to help customers achieve personalized design perfection.
